Seems like a good idea, but following what Nick said...

You may not *need* to do anything, but if no one knows, then it is a bit 
of a pointless exercise (except for specialist tags that are only of 
interest to the originator). If no one knows, they'll never get shown on 
a map and no one else will know to follow the same convention.

Just as Ulf could go his own way with waterway=slipway, there's not much 
point unless those managing the rendering and other tools both know to 
take note and actually do.

Incidentally, a cave open to the public might also be classified as 
tourism=attraction in some circumstances (e.g. Speedwell Cavern and 
similar in Derbyshire)
