can i put in a good word for reading? i don't live there any more and
i don't know anyone in LUGs there. but there is a university with a
"cybernetics" course, so there should be plenty of geeks. these guys
might be interested, and their next meeting is on dec 10th, so it
might be possible to go down in advance of a mapping party to warm
them up:

this area to the west of reading centre is all suburban houses and
represents a definite target:

sadly there isn't any aerial imagery. travel to reading is easy, with
direct train lines from london, bristol, south wales, birmingham,
oxford, cornwall/devon, etc...

cheers,

matt
