I found it interesting in the Linux Format article it talked about the
Potlatch editor, named after the native American gift giving ceremony. But
it didn't mention that Potlatch got banned.

And now for something completely different (or back to the topic)...

You can map width on any object that makes sense. In the countryside it
might make sense for gates (although Farmers probably know if they can fit
through their gates) or cycle 'squeezes'. Where as a car park gate is
helpful to have height if you have a 4-wheel chelsea tractor, or both width
and height in case you have a wide bus.
