[Talk-GB] Notification of Rights of Way

I agree with Robert, it's a rather outdated model. I don't think trying to
get the legislation changed is workable or even warranted. The problem with
any prescribed organisation list (the "in club" as I'd call it) is that its
unsustainable, which is perhaps why Defra would be reluctant to add anyone,
not just OSM, to it. Perhaps the legislation is simply not required if we
can persuade an authority or two to push out their list publicly. It would
be a starter and show an example of best practice to other authorities. With
our new found friendly contacts in some of the LA's perhaps it's something
that can be suggested and trailed.

Cheers
Andy

Count me in.

However, it seems to me that the whole idea of having a list of "prescribed
organisations" is somewhat outdated. If the councils were instead to publish
the details of any changes in a consistent and standardised way on their
websites (or better still via a suitable API), then it would be simple
enough for any interested organisation to check for updates and obtain
details of any changes that had occurred. But I guess that the legislation
is not set up for that way of thinking, so being added to the list of
"prescribed organisations"
may be the best thing to aim for.

Robert.
