Hi
Better by Bike are organising some OSM Mapping parties around the
Bristol area:
http://www.betterbybike.info/
If you wish to attend please let Alison Sherwin know by this WEDNESDAY.
You are invited to a mapping party
Across the region local councils are converting their cycle data into
Open Street Map. Migrating all our regional cycle data has highlighted a
number of details that need to be checked.
As Open Street Map is a collaborative tool, we would like to invite you
to join us for a mapping party to make our regional data as accurate as
it can be. We need your local knowledge to check specific details, such
as inconsistency in the attribution of a path to include cycling, or
geometry where a cycle path may not be shown at all.
Changes to Open Street Map are easy to make, expert tuition and
refreshments will be provided at each venue to make this a social
occasion. An enthusiasm for cycle data is more important than
experience. Come along to a venue near you and feel free to bring a
friend.

The quality of the data held in Open Street Map is important for
providing accurate cycle route information and is used in a number of
internet journey planners such as Cycle streets and Travelwest. With
your help in future Open Street Map can be used to produce paper and
online maps.
Updating detail in Open Street Map can be done on any mobile device, or
computer. Attendees are welcome to bring a smartphone, tablet or laptop
to the party if they choose.
