FYI: A high-resolution map of Newport from 1845 has been uploaded by the
National Library of Wales. It's a bit out of date (170 years or so) but may
be of use to some mappers.

Hi every one,
Just to let you all know, the National Library of Wales have taken another
big step towards open access by uploaded a very high res copy of a historic
tithe map. The map shows the city of Newport in Wales - which was surveyed
around the time of the Chartist uprisings (Newport uprising)
We have uploaded the map as a whole at a reasonable resolution here:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Newport_Tithe_Map.png
and also in High Quality sections here:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/St_Woolos,_Newport_Tithe_Map
I also plan add geo-referencing data (which already exists) to the map when
I have time.
Please let me know what you think!
