Local school here (Denbighshire, Wales) has been shown as a boundary
polygon with tag amenity=school and the main school building is a
polygon within the boundary tagged as building=school. Both polygons
have a name tag which is the same (Ysgol Hiraddug).

Is this the right way to tag?
