Hi all,
I noticed recently that Mapbox's renderers are no longer showing this quite
large island in the middle of the Thames in West London near where I live,
both in mobile apps e.g. Strava and also in their Mapbox-GL web maps which
I use in a couple of webapps that I maintain.
I have checked the underlying data in OSM twice now and cannot find
anything wrong, though it was missing a nature=wood tag that I added today
it has all the relevant tags as per [1] and is part of the 'River Thames'
multipolygon relation as described in that same doc page. Yet still
according to Mapbox the island is not there.
The island shows just fine in the osm.org tiles and also on openseamap
which I sometimes use. I tried reporting the issue to Mapbox a couple of
months back but their tools for reporting problems aren't great and nobody
ever got back to me, nor has the problem been fixed.
I wonder if anyone might recommend any other tools or methods for checking
that the multipolygons are indeed correct, or any wisdom or on getting some
further information on what might be the problem (though I appreciate that
this is an OSM list, not Mapbox, at least I wanted to be sure that the data
here is correct before trying again at their end).
Cheers,
Will
