[Talk-GB] Talk-GB Digest, Vol 172, Issue 8

Hi Ben and all,

Nodes-to-areas for solar panel installations would be useful, for
sure. That's because it's useful for estimating capacity, and also for
training machine vision systems to detect solar panels.

There's also Russ's solar tagger app, an easy way to add module count
(only) - a nice easy way in.

I'm going to be having a meeting tomorrow with some solar people, so
might have more to say after that. For now, I just wanted to confirm
the above!

Cheers
Dan

There are a number of things that could be done to improve the solar panel data on OSM such as turning nodes into mapped areas, updated tags to ensure the number of panels are included, map new solar panels ect. This mostly, if not all, could be done remotely to ensure that no-one is breaking any 'laws' to survey.
