[Talk-GB] OSM leaving the UK?

I'm inclined to agree, though I think it's definitely a discussion worth
having.
I feel there are several discrete questions which, as presented in that
thread, have been rolled up:
1. Database rights: are these worth anything at all after the move? Are
they worth the more restrictive civil law regime we will be under (unless
in Ireland)?
2. Tax exemptions: What loss of autonomy are we prepared to accept in
exchange? Can we reverse-ferret, or is it forever?
3. Donor tax incentives: Ditto.
4. Ease of business (in English): Where can we go that reduces the drag as
much as possible?
There seem to be trade-offs everywhere:
- For maximum autonomy I'd stay just as we are. Corporation tax is a
small price to pay for near total freedom from regulation (and the
situation is only likely to improve from that pov. Thanks, Rishi).
- For minimum tax with similar autonomy I'd be an Estonian plc - but
only if free trading of shares can be nixed (and OECD may come and poop the
party in Tallinn pretty soon)
- For best lobbying of the EU I'd be a Societas Cooperativa Europaea
based in Brussels - but there's a sword of Damocles in automatic
dissolution provisions if the coop strays outside the regulatory ambit.
I'm still mulling this over but I'm minded to ask if the Board will
disaggregate those questions and share their thinking so far on each.
Thoughts welcome.
