I don't know if I support this one.
Firstly, the official name of something doesn't have to match the OSM
value. I see no problem with OSM data continuing to use
`crossing_ref=tiger` while anything displaying this to end users calls
it a "parallel crossing".
This is almost a translation issue, the key values don't always have to
be British English, our tooling should translate it for us.

This is the bit I really don't agree with, if this was to get support
it should be global. We don't need different values for the same thing
in different regions. If you want to do that you should probably post
on the tagging list, but I don't recommend spending too much time
there, it's bad for your health.

No matter what happens you should try and get the preset done. I don't
really know how the JOSM and iD presets work, but presumably you can
add "parallel" as a keyword for `crossing` and `crossing_ref` so you
get the same results if you search for "parallel" or "tiger".
