[Talk-GB] Gathering street level imagery off road?

I have a GoPro Hero 9 Black. It has a "time lapse" mode, and you just have
to change the default setting of time lapse video to time lapse images and
it creates a sequence of geotagged images at 0.5s intervals which can be
uploaded using the Mapillary Uploader app.

Annoyingly the Mac app doesn't do the "normalisation" (where it compensates
for the lack of a compass bearing by automatically determining the bearing
of the photo from the direction to the next photo) so I had to manually go
into each sequence on the Mapillary website to retrospectively request
normalisation. And they made an update to the Mapillary website about three
weeks ago and removed that feature.

I have the camera mounted on my handlebars and it works fairly well.
Obviously it would be much better on a tripod at least a metre higher, but
I don't want to look stupid as I ride around! I use the images mostly for
getting addressing details, and I can usually find enough door numbers
between parked cars to infer the rest.

Jeremy Vine has a 360⁰ camera which I imagine would be great for this. It
even comes with a harness that you can attach around your waist and attach
a two metre telescopic tripod to. Really attracts attention though as
you're riding round with it!
