We only built Openwastemap last weekend, so still a bit basic.
Tag "owner=Somerset County Council" or similar to get it onto the map.
As both Household Waste Recycling Centres (aka 'the tip') *and* Household
Waste Recycling Points (aka '5 containers in a group near the shops') get
tagged as recycling=centre we are currently selecting by looking for
recycling=centre + owner=%Council%. A bit dirty, but it works.
The website tag is useful as it makes it easier to check the opening times,
etc. at a later date.
We'd love to have a complete list of items accepted.
The wikidata tag will be useful in the future. An eventual aim is to
combine OSM and Wikidata to generate output in the new
https://github.com/OpenDataManchester/Open3R standard. Councils would then
have the starting template that they could add to and publish....which we
might then consume to keep OSM up-to-date.
We would like to enable the general public to add information to OSM via
the site. At the moment it can post a note. TBD whether we should enable
direct changes.
