Yes indeed.
But I do think it is at the very least impolite to retag withiout

Totally, particularly given you've tagged it as mapped from survey.
How were/are hushes tagged? I see a few streams with names including

I've not mapped them but, to add to what Mike has said, in Swaledale there
are some spectacular examples. For clarity, I'm not suggesting a particular
approach but reporting what I've seen. The Hungry Hushes area was mapped as
landuse=surface_mining so was caught in the retag:

The Bunton Hush and others in the Gunnerside area have been mapped as
localities

The topography has often been mapped with a combination of cliffs and spoil
heaps. I think it can be helpful to map the topography in a way that
renders in non-specialist maps - these can be very imposing features -
although I think cliff is better reserved for exposed rock edges and maybe
earth-bank would be better here (although that doesn't tend to get
rendered...). I think man_made=embankment is often used similarly in other
situations, which I don't like when it's the top of a cutting but maybe I
just need to get over that!
I think however things are mapped it would be helpful to have some
consistency, even if there's also a way of distinguishing hushes,
streamworks and others (historic gravel pits often have the 'disturbed
ground' effect you describe). So it's good to have the discussion and
update the wiki page.
Should pages like that get linked from the main UK page in the same way as
public rights of way tagging is?
