There's actually pretty low usage of "scooter" worldwide (actually low 
enough for me to wonder if another tag is being used altogether?).  From 
looking at https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=scooter#values and 
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org.uk/search?q=scooter#values :

91 motorcycle:type=scooter (none in UK; seems to be mostly actual shops)
67 amenity=scooter_rental (27 in UK)
58 amenity=scooter_parking (2 in UK)
9 parking=e-scooter (9 in UK)
5 motorcycle:type=standard;scooter
4 shop=e-scooter
4 description=Scooter
3 motorcycle=scooter
3 motorcycle:type=scooter;electric (1 in UK)
3 amenity=e_scooter_parking

I'd be happy to add support to map.atownsend.org.uk - a pull request (to 
https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/SomeoneElse-style/blob/master/style.lua 
to coalesce the values, to 
https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/openstreetmap-carto-AJT/blob/master/amenity-points.mss 
to display the symbol and the name and to 
https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/openstreetmap-carto-AJT/tree/master/symbols 
to add the new .png for the symbol) would get it there quicker, 
otherwise it'll wait for me to get a "round tuit".
