Might be worth bearing in mind that minicab as a term for private hire cars
is surprisingly local in the UK, something I certainly wasn't aware of
until quite recently (I'm probably guilty of the sole office=mini_cab).

Elsewhere in the world similar splits exist between regular licenced cabs
which can pick fares up on the street and radio cabs which must be
pre-booked (Argentina is a very good example).
