It is very true that a winery might sell wine from multiple sources of
grapes. But a grape grown in a vineyard located in a specific AVA should
carry that designation. The wine bottle would only contain that specific
appellation if all the grapes were from that appellation. I'm working on a
proposal to just add the appellation to the actual field of grapes, not the
winery.
