Here's one way to do it, in the case of a terrace:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/870814205 . Use addr:street=(terrace name) for the buildings on the terrace; use addr:parentstreet for the 'main street' that the terrace is on; add a named way for the terrace (w870814205).
In other cases, the terrace name is not really part of the addressing scheme - it's really 'decorative' or 'historic' - https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/870814205 . Here the houses are on Langthorne Road, with housenumbers on that road.
There has been a lot of traffic on addressing in general (and terraces in particular) and the rough consensus has been gathered here for eventual implementation in new tools. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Addresses_in_the_United_Kingdom
