Yeah, it shouldn't be on the highway, and I'd do individual trees for
so few, but I don't think it matters that much.

I don't think you need to contact this user prior to fixing the data.
Just fix the road, they were trying to map the trees so it'd be polite
to map them correctly, tree row, or individual trees. Then contact
them, thank them for trying, briefly tell them you fixed it, and offer
to help them with future edits if they want it.
