I'd happily add rendering support for "area:highway=pedestrian" or 
something to 
https://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html#19/53.79794/-1.45042 so 
that something like https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/678702173 is 
better shown.  Currently it looks a bit rubbish both in OSM's standard 
style and mine as the underlying retail  landuse shows through.

The reason I've not done it before so because I've not had a good idea 
what it should be shown as.
