[Talk-GB] New Tool: Linear High Street Maps

For some time, I've wanted a way to obtain a printable list of
shops/businesses along a given street to help with on-the-ground
re-surveys. Printable maps like Field Papers ( http://fieldpapers.org/
) are great, but don't always show all the detail for a densely mapped
high street. I couldn't find anything suitable, so I had a go at
making a tool myself. With some extra coding, it turned out it could
also be used to flag missing/inconsistent address tags and other
tagging issues that can often be fixed by arm-chair mappers.

This is what I've come up with:
https://osm.mathmos.net/linear/

Further details of what it does can be found on that page. I've been
testing it myself for a while. If anyone else would like to try it out
on a high street near them and provide some feedback, then please let
me know, and I can add some streets for you. If you want to get a good
idea of the sorts of things flagged up by the checks, then a good
example street is this one:
https://osm.mathmos.net/linear/great-yarmouth/king-street/ . (For most
of the other streets there at the moment, I've been round fixing
things, so you'll get a false impression.)

Best wishes,

Robert.
