This is possibly a slippery slope, but we do have the *:signed tag suffix for cases like this - where the signage is just 'wrong'.   So maybe ref:signed or name:signed for whatever the sign says; with ref and name used for the 'true' data; and source:name and source:ref for where the 'true' information came from.
