Sam Smith's are the direct operator of all of their pubs (and it is
arguably also the "brand", since they are pretty consistent outside as
well as in*). I believe that the last Sam Smith's pub not run directly
by the brewery was The Ebor in Bishopthorpe near York
(https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/643438276 ), but when the previous
landlord died (during the first Covid wave) it closed, and the word
locally was that the company was looking for a manager.
Best Regards,
Andy
* this wasn't always the case - going back 20 years or so there were
some that had a more tangential connection - I think that
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/258325076/history was one.
