It most definitely is the wrong approach, especially concerning access 
infrastructure (service roads, tracks, driveways). Firstly, having a 
private driveway does not usually entail the right to dictate to others 
whether they can put that driveway on their map or not - clear case of 
landowner hubris. (We've had people argue that "it is not in our 
interest to make the location of this building known" - answer: but it 
is in ours).

In many places, fire brigades and other emergency services use OSM at 
least to supplement the "official" data they are given. Yes, the fire 
brigades will eventually find their way to your burning mansion, but 
maybe if OSM helps them find that way just a little faster...?
