Please can you explain what the difference between these two files is
they seem to contain different data. Do we need two?
Randomly picking on Nuneaton, foodbanks.geojson appears to point to a
residential address rather than a location likely to be a foodbank,
locations.geojson does seem rather more sane and provides some guidance
for a survey or find the location already mapped in OSM. Many are
churches so we do have pretty good coverage.
One issue with both files is that the locations are not the real
locations, but postcode centoids.
Another issue I have come across is that in at least one case
(Whitchurch, Shropshire) the postcode is plain wrong. That one only a
appears in foodbanks and is absent from locations.
I suppose the other question is why map this data?
Outside of opening hours they are unlikely to be verifiable.
You cannot 'rock up', you need to be referred.
Should we be ensuring the venues are mapped so that once referred they
can be found. This improves the map beyond a single usecase. Such place
will often host other events where people need to find them.
