Hi Andy,

Three brooks converge at Furnace Mill to create Dowles Brook.

Mad Brook from the north.

Baveney Brook from the west.

Lem Brook from the south.

There is no doubt about the naming of the first two, because the places 
where the Elan Aqueduct crosses them are called Mad Brook Crossing and 
Baveney Brook Crossing. Here is a photo of Mad Brook Crossing:
