Background: 

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative
for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) has set up a Data Unit – within the Statistics Unit at AMA –
to leverage on the use of data to optimise resource allocation, monitor outcomes and make
informed decisions. Vital Strategies provides technical support to AMA (and the Data Unit)
for all activities related to BIGRS surveillance work, including general capacity building for data
collection, management, and analysis that can be applied to other technical areas.
