[Talk-gr] Mailing List Message Number 1

Hi,

I’ve seen the equivalent forums, a WikiProject page and the IRC channel, but inspired by the existence of talk-gb and others I have decided to see if there is a talk-gr. There is one, but it feels so lonely because there are no past messages before I joined in.

In short, I think we need to work on bringing a Greek-specialist mapping and road-fan community together so that there will be healthy and thriving community of Greek road fans and mappers from Greece and all corners of the world. What do you think? I placed the mailing list link to the WikiProject page so that it can attract more Greek mappers to join in.

As for me, I am a London-based mapper who started in Athens, but developed an interest in the national road network. I did a lot of research into deciphering the structure of the Greek road system. I am confident that it has been a local custom to use primary for National Roads and secondary for Provincial Roads, but if there are any questions or latest observations please get in touch, if there is anyone (and we do need a community).
