Hi
Regarding radio stations: amenity=studio is an "official" Map Feature
with an assoicated icon. OSMdoc says that it has been used 164 times
only. Here's an example node:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/582919072. It's not rendered
yet on the "main map", but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be
rendered. We can either get in touch with OSMrs working on the
renderers or try to contribute a patch. I have no experience in tweaking
OSM rendering code, but see the osmarender rendering style sheet for
zoomlevel 17:
http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/rendering/osmarender/stylesheets/osm-POI-features-z17.xml
- doesn't look too scary, does it? Don't know whom to get in touch with,
though, perhaps we should ask on the dev-list.
Schools (amenity=school) are already rendered, both with an icon if a
node is tagged and as area if a closed way is tagged a school.
Thanks to the NAHO/WHO data we now have a large dataset with different
kinds of health facilities. A subset thereof (large health facilities)
is already tagged with amenity=hospital, but the majority isn't tagged
with an "official" OSM tag yet. They use a domain specific tag
health_facility_type=dispensary
health_facility_type=health_center
etc.
This is a Haiti specific ontology and I think we should get them
rendered on the Haiti specific map: http://haiti.openstreetmap.nl/. As
framm suggested, lets get in touch with User:Ldp.
Regards
Karl
