Thanks to Frederik we have know the admin boundaries of Haiti in a
shapefile format but there are invalid geometry to fix.
Could someone tell me how to fix, or how to learn how to fix a multypolygon
as the Sud Département which is one of the rejected by Frederik (Relation=
391925, admin_level=4, pcode1=7) ?

Admin Boundaries Shapefile updated
Hi,
due to repeated requests (hello Vincent ;-) I have updated the admin
boundaries shapefile on
<http://labs.geofabrik.de/haiti/boundary-shapefile/>
http://labs.geofabrik.de/haiti/boundary-shapefile/
It countains proper polygons for all boundary=administrative objects
(whether closed ways or closed multipolygons), including the national
borders of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Where mapped in OSM, objects have the following attributes
* name
* population
* admin_level
* pcode_2 and pcode_3 [*]
* population
* source
The shape file does not contain such administrative areas that have an
invalid geometry in the current OSM data set. There are 26 such areas.
25 of them are not properly closed (the relation contains a number of ways
but they do not form a ring):
387039 387042 387712 387713 388823 388824 389326 389507 389508 389509
389511 390451 390452 391193 391195 391199 391700 391925 392105 392148
393396 393437 394519 394521 394522
It would be good if someone who is more involved than myself could check
these out and perhaps repair them.
Additionally, relation 389621 has an invalid geometry (most likely some of
its member ways intersect somewhere).
I can re-create the shape file at any time, but some manual work is involved
that's why I cannot currently offer it as part of the 5-minute update cycle.
Bye
Frederik
