Data has been contributed by EastView Cartographic, through NYPL.
Someone interested to look through this dataset, check if it's already available, and if there's any use in conflation or source for OSM Haiti?

Not sure if this road network dataset is already available?

    Hi Lars,

Here is the road network dataset (attached) extracted from four US 12.5K
    city graphics products.
Only the linework is finished at this point. The street/road names are
going to be assigned as well and distributed for the second version of
this dataset (should be ready on Monday). Plus: we are finishing up POIs
(identified on the source maps within the "Guide to numbered features"),
airports and coastline layers. Again, all delivered as second version on
    Monday.

Let me know if any questions.

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,
Thanks, I got it. I believe Kent mentioned a 1:12500 scale dataset as
well. Is that in the works?

I will disseminate the 50K data and do my best to let you know how its
being used. Will request credit for Eastview be used in all instances.

    Best,

    Lars

Attached please find the final version of the 50K dataset.

Please confirm the receipt of this e-mail as well as the dataset.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    ----------------

    Gentlemen,

Attached please find our first version of GIS vector dataset over
    Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

It was extracted from TLM50K 5771 IV from 1962 - so it's old, but it's
the latest we have at this scale.

Data is structured per NGA VMAP2 specification and stored in ESRI
shapefiles (+CPG files to accommodate for native script), Geo/WGS84.

We have had to come up with it on a very short notice, so not all the
    layers were digitized yet.

The following layers are missing in this first version:

    1. contourl
    2. elevp
    3. bluffl
    4. treesa
    5. orcharda
    6. phystxt
    7. builda

and maybe a couple of other minor ones.

We'll finish extracting those tomorrow and will make the second version
of this dataset available to you immediately.

We are also working on extracting street network and POI features from
four 12.5K city graphics products over the area. That should be
    available tomorrow as well.

Let me know if you have any questions in regards to this dataset.

    Regards,

    Nick Nazarenko
