I am missing a program for marking POI-s myself. That is one of the reasons
I am planning to go into GpsMid <http://gpsmid.sourceforge.net/> - it will
be easier to join a project than write everything myself. It shouldn't be a
big problem to add audio notes feature too. What I want is to have the
ability to press on one of the keys on the keypad and record a POI of
certain (configurable) type, like 'Paz Yellow'.

For street names I do as Tal suggests - the laziest thing I've discovered so
far is when I travel somewhere in the city with someone, to take a camera
and ask him to take shots of the street signs.
