i was just going through the national map policy
http://www.mycoordinates.org/pdf/nationalmappolicy.pdf and something that
caught my interest is this:

"In addition, the SOI is currently preparing City Maps. These City Maps will
be on large scales in WGS-84 datum and in public domain. The contents of
such maps will be decided by the SOI in consultation with Ministry of
Defence." just before section 4

has onyone interacted with the SOI yet or may have an update on this?

from all that i have read, mapping seems safe as long as we stay well away
from military areas. although the new article is scary, its quite clear that
the two were way over their limits (if the article is indeed accurate). i
really cant imagine anyone with common sense going down that path.
