hi,

I have put up the relevant files in:
http://bitbucket.org/lawgon/osmindia/

to create new tags, you need to add them to default.style, make the necessary 
changes in the default osm.xml file and add your new png icons to the symbols 
directory and then push your changes to the server.

I will give commit rights to people who want them, but follow the following 
rules:

1. Discuss proposed changes on the mailing list
2. file an issue whenever you want to make a change and keep the issue current 
with what you are doing
3. test locally before uploading

Actually the docs say that we can have upto 8 stylesheets. But lets start with 
one and learn how to do it. One caveat - due to cache-ing, changes may take 
some time to appear. When they do appear you can see cool red flags on the 
greens of several South Indian golf courses.

I will try to set up updating the data from OSM once a day.

Let us all collaborate on making a thoroughly useful map of India - and if 
some kind soul can tell me how to enable the Indian fonts I would be grateful.
