[Talk-in] NRSC Landuse data in public domain

There's some great news, I just received an email from Dr Harish (Scientist
at NRSA) that the WMS service for India's landuse data is now live [1]. I
tried it out in JOSM and works great. I have requested him to update the
data policy page [2] clarifying if the data available through wms is also in
public domain (because its 1:250K data and not 1:1M) and also how to
attribute the source correctly.

If all this data does come into public domain, then would it be possible to
automate the analysis of the imagery and derive land cover polygons? That
would be a massive and unbelievably useful dataset.
