[Talk-in] Information on Railway Station

The official station name and codes can be extracted from 
http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/fois/fois/layout/station_search.seam  and 
doing a search for a to z.
We can get the official Station Code, Station Name, Division (Code-Name) and 
Zone.

As the station code is always unique it can be used data comparison and 
merging. However in order to reconcile the extracted station code/name with 
the IRS GIS data, I cant see the station code key in IRS GIS data. So 
wondering if there is good way to merge the official station code and GIS 
data.

Most of the current marked stations on OSM map has the tag called REF which 
has station code. The above combined data (if possible) can further be used 
for comparison and to make updates only for stations that are not in OSM.

Hi,
IR data can be crosschecked against RBS data for consistency.
On the indiarailinfo site, there are pictures of most stations. Can be used
to crosscheck station name spellings. (Which incidentally shows it as
Kodigehalli!)

Some years back there was a landslide at Tindharia, which cut off both
road (Hill cart Road) and rail links. If restored, will do it!
