[OSM-Iraq] HOT Iran-Iraq Earthquake Response

Greetings OSM-Iraq,

 

I am Russell Deffner with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) and am
co-leading with Blake Girardot (cc'd) a mapping response to the Iran-Iraq
Earthquake.  We have activated to fulfill a request by UNOSAT for building
footprints in the area impacted. The first project is already up at
tasks.hotosm.org - it is for Iran, but Iraq projects are in the works. We
also have a wiki-page we will use to track and inform on progress:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/2017_Iran-Iraq_Earthquake - we expect
about six projects and maybe a week or two response.

 

We invite you to help us with local knowledge, mapping and coordination.
You can reply directly to me, Blake or the Activation Working Group
(activation at hotosm.org) or join the HOT Slack (slack.hotosm.org)
#disaster-mapping channel.  We hope the best for all of those affected, we
hope our mapping can aid in response and recovery.
