Using JOSM and some hand editing of the gpx files I ended up with 20
files (the other ones don't have any tracks around Reykjavík).  These
20 files are only 48,3 MB so rendering a video was no problem, even on
my tired old laptop.  You can find the video on youtube here:

If anybody is interested in the original mpg file just let me know
(it's about 170 MB).
