[Talk-ko] November 21st Mapathon in Seoul

Hi OSM Korea,

I am visiting Korea in November and thought it would be fun to arrange a mapping event while I am there. The dates I was thinking are November 21st or November 22nd. I work on Meta’s (formely Facebook) mapping team and would love to get to know Korea’s OSM community better.

In particular, I was hoping to run a workshop on RapiD Editor and/or Mapillary.

RapiD is an editor for OpenStreetMap developed by Meta that enables you to add open datasets as well as buildings and roads extracted from AI to OpenStreetMap.

Mapillary is a platform for street-level imagery that uses computer vision to derive map features such as crosswalks, traffic signs, bicycle parking, and street-lights. All of the images and derived data are made available for OSM in the editing tools.

Are the workshops proposed above something that OSM Korea would find valuable?

What time of day generally works best for a meetup? I was thinking late afternoon/early evening.

Would the area around Yeoksam station be a convenient place to meet? I am confirming whether Meta’s offices would work as a location.

저는 메타 (페이스북) Mapping 팀에서 일하고 있는 Edoardo(에드) 라고 합니다. 11월에 한국에 개인적으로 방문할 계획이 있어 이 기회를 빌어 한국 OSM 커뮤니티를 만나뵙고 mapping 워크샵을 계획 하고 있습니다.

워크샵 주제는 RapiD Editor 와 Mapillary으로 예상 중입니다.

RapiD는 메타에서 개발한 오픈스트리트맵 에디팅 프로그램으로 유저들의 오픈 dataset 뿐만 아니라 AI로 부터 추출한 건물들과 도로들을 오픈스트리트맵에 업로드하는 것을 가능하게 하고 있습니다.

Mapillary는 컴퓨터비전을 이용해 위치정보가 포함된 건널목, 교통표지판, 교통신호등, 자전거 주차장 등과 같은 사진을 공유하는 플랫폼으로 OSM의 정확성과 최신성에 기여하고 있습니다.

위 주제가 OSM Korea 커뮤니티에서 관심을 가지고 참석할만한 내용인지 궁급합니다.  워크샵 일정은 11월 21일 혹은 22일 늦은 오후나 저녁, 장소는 역삼역 근처로 예상하고 있고 현재 메타 오피스에서 워크샵이 가능한지 확인 중에 있습니다.

워크샵 주제에 관해 궁금한 점이 있으시거나, 워크샵 일정 (늦은 오후 혹은 저녁)과 장소에 대해 제안하실 점이 있으시면 연락 주시기 바랍니다.
