Soy Russell Deffner del Equipo Humanitario de OpenStreetMap (HOT, por sus
siglas en inglés), junto con Geoffrey Kateregga, nosotros somos parte de un
proyecto de erradicación de Malaria en el sur de África, sureste de Asia y
Centroamérica. Éste proyecto es parte de la initiative MissingMap y cuenta
con el apoyo de DigitalGlobe, la Clinton Health Access Initiative y la Gates
Foundation.

 

Parte de las área de interés para el mapeo es en Guatemala y Honduras.

Estamos escribiendoles para informarles del trabajo que se está realizando y
para invitarles a participar. Nuestra meta es levantar datos de alta calidad
sobre viviendas, casas y edificios.También queremos mejorar la red de calles
y carreteras. Lo mejor es colaborar con grupos locales. Adicionalmente, si
no se han enterrados aún, HOT está lanzando un programa de micro-fondos para
grupos locales de OSM (aquí encuentren más información:
https://hotosm.org/projects/mapping_the_world%E2%80%99s_vulnerable_places_be
gins_with_you). Ambas oportunidades podrían dar financiamiento modesto o
dispositivos para grupos quienes están trabajando con OSM en Guatemala y
Honduras.

Greetings Central America OpenStreetMappers,

 

I am Russell Deffner of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), along
with Geoffrey Kateregga, we are managing a mapping project for malaria
eradication in Southern Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America. This
project is part of the Missing Maps initiative and is backed by
DigitalGlobe, the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Gates Foundation.
Our mission is to generate building footprint data in OpenStreetMap for a
total of over 500,000 square kilometers by April 2017.

We are writing to inform you of this work and invite you to participate. Our
goal is to provide high quality building data, improve the road network
where needed, and If we can collaborate with local groups, even better.
Also, if you have not heard, HOT is launching a micro-grant program for
local OSM groups (read more here:
https://hotosm.org/projects/mapping_the_world%E2%80%99s_vulnerable_places_be
gins_with_you). Both opportunities could help provide some modest funding or
equipment to groups working on OSM in Guatemala or Honduras.
