Sveiki

P.S. Projekto vadovė Grit rašė, kad „for participants of the workshop
during 9-11 of May there would be the possiblity to stay in Nida Art
Colony for max. 10 people together in three rooms“.

  Trumpas Grit aprašymas apie Indexmap.

======
Indexmap tries to apply and exercise, that understanding reality is
already a creative process. Reality is nothing, that can be
objectively decribed in order to discover a single "truth". By
observing, representing and describing our environment, everyone
create this world in this or that sense, produces reality or space as
Lefebvre says. It is a conceptual approach with a concrete region -
the Curonian Spit. And a goal with an ecological motivation:
observation of landscape.

Mapping itself is not exactly art, but related to it during all
centuries, since it is about representing reality. Art can maybe help
to find new ways of:

- observation methods
- observation criteria (aesthetics)
- ways of documentation
- ways of description/representation

An open, playful approach shall enable to collect all sorts of
knowledge, without valueing them and demanding for scientific
criteria. Not judging between concious and unconscious decisions -
same within the arts. The new is by defintion unknown - openness may
help to uncover, what is taken for granted.

Furthermore, Indexmap shall research and develop methods of jointly
designing processes. To move away from one artistic genius (Artist,
Architect, Designer ... ) towards a collaborative designing process,
that might be useful in a complex, democratic society. All this is at
a very starting point, not only the Indexmap-project has to learn a
lot more about it.

Content at the Indexmap-website should be creative-commons mainly.
Software, images and other contributions are be open. OSM provides a
source of geo-data for Indexmap-authors. Both share the interest in
collaborative production of knowledge, that can be used and
transformed. Indexmap may publish knowledge, that doesn't fit to the
rules of OSM.
