Recently I made a trip through the baltic states, not at least to do a
bit of mapping outside my country.
One day I went along bad and then worse tracks badly in need to find a
place to make a camp. Return because of bad ways was out of question.
After the worse tracks I went a way which is probably to to be a track
some day. At the time being it was a "lane" in the forest, marked here
and there like this whith read-white plastic strips on a pole¹.
Besides there lay cutted branches and trees crisscross. I only went on
since otherwise I would have been eaten alive by million manic
mosquitos (I put on long clothes in this wood, pulled the Buff up to the
eyes and the hat as low as possible), the sun was setting, I was running
out of water and the way back would have been sucking the same plus I
knew there was no place to camp.
Somewhere on this parcour² the Garmin left the bike holder as the
bicycle dropped down one of the many times it stuck in a pitch or on a
branch. Though I searched half an hour in the fading light (exhausted as
I was) I could not find it in the scrubs.
Here is your chance to go there and get it yourself. I'd only ask for
the logs stored on the card.
If the to-be-finder would like to return the device to me I'd reward
with 170 EUR plus shipping. The device was operated with two of these³
accumulators (in case you want to use a metal detector).
To have some coordinates to start with, use these link:
http://tools.geofabrik.de/mc/?mt0=mapnik&mt1=googlesat&lon=24.39556&lat=57.43676&zoom=16
If you go there don't forget to
*use a vehicle sufficient for that terrain
*take enough water with you
*take precautions for the mosquitos
Have fun! =)
Best regards
