Greetings Nicaragua OpenStreetMap Community,

My name is Russell Deffner and I am the Disaster Response Coordinator for
the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT). We are very sorry to hear of the
situation caused by Hurricane Eta. We have been evaluating the situation
and have identified areas along the coast that could benefit from
completing the basemap.

Therefore we are initiating an Activation (disaster mapping response). Our
hope is that if maps are needed for the response and recovery efforts, that
OpenStreetMap will be ready for use by the response and aid organizations.

If you would like to contribute to the coordination of the response, you
may reply directly to me, or Activation.Requests en hotosm.org, or the
quickest way to participate is to join the HOT Slack (slack.hotosm.org)
#disaster-mapping channel. Mapping projects will come soon to the HOT
Tasking manager (tasks.hotosm.org) and you can find information on the HOT
activities wiki-page
