[OSM-np] Help with openstreet map api

(2) The OSM wiki has tons of information like this. I just searched for API
on it, and found this page:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API_v0.6(off of this page:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API, which helps guide you through the
different versions).
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Databases_and_data_access_APIs also
lists a few different options, the XAPI in particular has been mentioned as
one that is sometimes more useful than the OSM API itself when the OSM API
was in an old version.

(3) If you are looking for a tile-based API rather than an API to access
the data in OSM, check out http://switch2osm.org/using-tiles/ and
http://mapbox.com/hosting/api-embed/ I work on a software product called
formhub (http://formhub.org) that uses the mapbox streets API extensively
for our mapping needs, I can answer further questions if you have any.
