If undergrad, freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior? GIS major? Do they already have some level of OSM experience? Our experience is that students with some level of GIS/OSM/image interpretation skill can do much better job. Further some universities engage students with careful planning while others just ask students to map in OSM. We have found that the later does not produce useful results. It also depends upon the goal of such an exercise. In sum, can you send us more information? Thanks.
