Hi all,
I’m in the process of making some more data layers available to import.
Most of these datasets are hydrographic data, such as shipwrecks, buoys, underwater cables, oil rigs, springs, etc.
In OSM, all these features use the seamark tagging schema, which is rather complex (see https://wiki.osm.org/Seamarks/Seamark_Tagging_Schema)
However, LINZ’s data uses the ‘IHO S-57’ format, so converting this data to OSM seamark tags is actually quite simple.
This data covers New Zealand, its outer islands, Sāmoa, Tonga, Niuē, Tokelau, the Cook Islands, and the Ross Sea of Antarctica (roughly equivalent to the area on this map: https://maritimenz.govt.nz/images/about/rccnz/SRR-map.jpg).
All this infomation is included in a new table on the wiki page: https://wiki.osm.org/LINZ#Hydrographic
I’ve also asked the OpenSeaMap.org community for feedback on this.
Best regards,
Kyle
