Greetings from the Open Mapping Hub Asia Pacific!

*SYRIA and TURKEY still need our help!*

Inline with the devastating recent news of the earthquake, map data is very
crucial for those who are working on the ground. Doctors, responders, camp
organizers require this information to better plan, decide, and coordinate
needed help for those affected.

For the following weeks, we call upon all experienced OpenStreetMap
communities, mappers, and validators to stand in solidarity with the
Turkish and Syrian community by helping and continuing in the mapping and
validating of needed tasks in the affected areas.

There has already been so much mapping and help done in the past week but
there is still a need to complete this.

We would like to invite you to join the AP Hub’s Solidarity Mapathons for
Turkey and Syria where we can map/validate tasks for an hour to provide
needed support for those on the ground. We will be setting up a virtual
room where anyone who would like to share their time and skills to complete
the emergency tasks can do so. You may bring in your community/
organization/ team/ friends to join as we collectively map buildings,
roads, and POIs in the following weeks. We will be doing it daily starting
on February 24, 2023 at 13:00 UTC at this meeting room link
