Hi,
Some idea for your OSM PH website (I'm cc'ing the OSM Philippines list
so maybe they have other ideas)
Reporting errors - a good functionality for it would be to casually
report errors in the data. While there maybe a lot of people visiting
the site, few will probably join OSM and edit/contribute. Casual
visitors may look at the map and probably say "Hey, this road is
wrong!!". Humans can easily identify mistakes in the map than
probably say this is good data ;). OSM does not allow anonymous edits
which in some ways is good. This limits (not eliminate)
errors/vandalism which happens a lot in wikimapia. Openstreetbugs has
this functionality ( http://openstreetbugs.appspot.com/ ). We can
probably replicate this for the Philippine site? Regular pinoy
mappers can then look at the reported bugs and edits them accordingly.
I'll send more ideas as it come to my head. I cannot code anything
(other than nix shell scripts) so I can;t help there. But will
happily test and provide feedback.
cheers,
maning
