Hi guys,

The planned mapping party is less than a week away. So let's get the
planning into high gear.

First of all, please confirm again your attendance by replying. Also
indicate if you'll be bringing a vehicle that can be used for mapping. If
you're not bringing a car, do you plan to go to Tagaytay using public
transportation or would you be willing to be picked up along the way (maybe
in Alabang?). Also indicate if you have any GPS devices that can be used.
Hopefully we can fix travel arrangements for everyone soon.

Second, depending on the available transportation, I don't think that
everyone can do mapping individually so maybe we'll split the group into
teams of 2 or 3 people. The number of teams will affect how we divide the
Tagaytay cake.

Third, we need to draw up a list of target places to map. While we can just
say "map as much as possible" it would be best to prioritize by having a
scavenger-hunt type of list of important POIs and landmarks, usually
touristy in nature. Here's an initial list of possible places I cobbled
together from various tourist web pages about Tagaytay:

* City Hall
* Picnic Grove
* People's Park in the Sky
* Taal Vista Hotel
* Casino Filipino
* Tagaytay Highlands
* Tagaytay Crosswinds
* Development Academy of the Philippines
* Pink Sisters Convent
* Divine Word Seminary
* other retreat houses (Tagaytay is a popular destination for religious
retreats)
* Filipino-Japanese Friendship Garden
* (some zoo that I visited before but can't remember what its name is)
* Mushroom Burger!

It would be nice if we can get extensive data for some of these places, e.g.
buildings, driveways, walking paths of Picnic Grove.

Here's the "Maps" web page of the Tagaytay City website:
http://www.tagaytay.gov.ph/Maps.html

Fourth, I'm volunteering to be the point contact person. (Maning famously
doesn't have a cellphone so I'm not sure if he's willing to be the contact
person.) If you all agree, confirmed participants should e-mail me privately
their cellphone numbers.

Anything else I missed?
