That makes sense ... can anyone document which areas are priority for
satellite imagery, as the typhoon progresses?

I know JG already has an inquiry into SPOT image, who are being very
cooperative with OSM. We'll also discuss best approach for DG and
GeoEye.

Hello Mikel,

As far as I know, we don't have any mappers based in northern Luzon
island and we have no high-resolution satellite imagery of any place
in that area (Cagayan and Isabela provinces) from which OSM is legally
able to trace data.

I guess one thing OSM or HOT can help with is securing access to such
imagery, similar to the donated image by DigitalGlobe last year in the
wake of Typhoon Parma (Pepeng).

I'm not sure if this is good or not, but we should probably wait a day
or so in order to wait for news reports of the towns that are the most
badly hit. Once we know those places, we can then request for
satellite imagery of those particular areas so the OSM effort can be
focused.

Thanks!
Eugene
